Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2, 2026
Before you rely on this: this is a reasonable starting draft, not something a lawyer has reviewed for you. Placeholders like the governing-law clause and business name need to be filled in with your actual registered entity (or your name, if operating as an individual) before this is truly enforceable. Have it reviewed before treating it as final, especially once real money and real users are involved.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using FreeScreenRecording (freescreenrecording.net), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. What the service is

FreeScreenRecording is a free, browser-based tool for recording your screen, camera, or audio, with an optional paid AI Summary feature that turns a transcript into a short summary, and an optional free account for saving recordings across devices. No account is required to use the free recording features.

3. Your responsibility when recording

You are solely responsible for how you use this tool — including making sure you have the legal right to record whatever you're recording. Many places require the consent of everyone being recorded, especially for calls and meetings, and laws vary by country and by state. Don't use this tool to record anyone without the consent required in your jurisdiction, and don't use it for surveillance, harassment, or any illegal purpose.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

5. Payments and refunds

The AI Summary feature is a one-time paid unlock processed securely through Razorpay. Prices are shown before you pay. If the feature fails to work as described due to a problem on our end, contact us within 14 days of purchase at the email below and we'll make it right, typically with a refund. We don't offer refunds for change of mind after the feature has been used successfully.

6. Optional accounts, and storage without one

Creating an account is optional. If you don't sign in, recordings exist only in your browser tab during your session — we are not responsible for recordings lost when you close or refresh the page, so download anything you want to keep. If you do sign in, new recordings are saved to your account (via our storage provider, Supabase) so they persist across sessions and devices; you're still responsible for backing up anything critical, since we don't guarantee uninterrupted storage availability.

7. Third-party services

Payments are handled by Razorpay, AI summaries are generated via OpenRouter (currently using Google's Gemini model), and optional account storage is handled by Supabase; all are subject to their own terms and privacy policies, which you should review if relevant to you.

8. Service "as is"

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of recordings.

9. Changes to the service or these terms

We may update the service or these terms over time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

[Placeholder — fill in the jurisdiction whose law will govern these terms, e.g. "the laws of India" or your state/country of business registration, before publishing.]
